Kindergarten and First Grade Miro Creatures
This lesson was inspired by the artist, Joan Miro, and his wonderfully creative use of line and shape to create images that look like imaginary creatures. We talked about the difference between organic and geometric shapes and discussed the characteristics of Miro's artwork. The artists then created their own creatures using a variety of lines and shapes, inspired both by Miro and their own ideas. They drew them with black oil pastel and added color with watercolor paint. The artists really enjoyed designing these amazing creatures!
