2nd and 3rd Grade Chinese Bamboo Painting and Ming Vases

For this project, the 2nd and 3rd graders learned about 2 forms of art that are unique to China - bamboo brush painting and Ming vases. The students created paintings of bamboo stalks using bamboo brushes. It's a very unique and challenging style of painting that the students did a fantastic with. They also learned about Ming vases - the blue and white vases that have been created in China for hundreds of years. They painted their vase with designs inspired by the Chinese Ming vases we looked at in class. The students then arranged each painting on a sheet of black paper. They look amazing!
